Trade Show Graphics Guaranteed for Life
In order to provide its customers with an additional sales tool to help drive and build their graphics businesses, LexJet’s latest generation of LexJet Clear, LexJet Clear w/ PreLume HD, now comes with a lifetime warranty.
Since its introduction in 1994 as LexJet’s flagship product, LexJet Clear has been a tradeshow and point-of-purchase graphics standard that has been continuously improved to meet and exceed the rigors of the trade show and point-of-purchase advertising markets.
The lifetime warranty is offered when LexJet Clear w/ PreLume HD is backed with one of LexJet’s PreLume Opaque White Backers.
This combination has been uniquely developed to ensure a solid bond between the two materials so that the user’s graphics will not split, tear, or delaminate, regardless of how many times the graphics are shipped, unpacked, installed, packed, and shipped again.
“This is another way in which our customers can differentiate themselves from their competitors, and it’s one they can take to the bank with great confidence,” says Jeff Leto, LexJet’s product manager. “Feedback from longtime users of LexJet Clear has proved that the LexJet Clear and Backer combination is virtually indestructible.”
LexJet Clear w/ PreLume HD is a reverse-print, 10-mil polycarbonate compatible with dye and pigmented ink sets. Its non-glare textured surface makes it impervious to fingerprints and repeated handling. It also incorporates PreLume, an optical reflection technology that ensures even brighter and cleaner white areas for graphics that stand out and grab the attention of passersby in a variety of indoor applications.
“As with LexJet’s entire product development program, our goal is to provide our customers with products that add value and higher profit margins, while eliminating labor and waste,” says John Lane, LexJet’s vice president. “The LexJet Clear w/ PreLume HD and PreLume Opaque White Backer combination ensures a graphic that can be reused indefinitely, which has the added benefit of reducing the industry’s environmental impact.”
LexJet Clear w/ PreLume HD is available in standard roll widths, from 18 in. to 50 in., and 60 ft. and 100 ft. roll lengths, and is backed by LexJet’s customer service, free technical and product support, and 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee. LexJet 5 Mil T-Flex Provides Print Shops with a One-Size-Fits-All Laminate
LexJet’s new 5 Mil T-Flex was developed to provide print shops with an extremely versatile laminate that helps cut down on inventory and saves money on shipping and material costs. The proprietary velvet-textured co-polymer film is equivalent in price with less-expensive thermal laminates while providing greater durability, adhesion strength, and image quality.
“Our customers are looking for ways to simplify and reduce their inventory. LexJet 5 Mil T-Flex does just that since it combines the economy of a thermal laminate with the quality of a co-polymer cold laminate film.” says Jeff Leto, LexJet’s product manager. “So, instead of stocking various types of laminates for different applications, LexJet 5 Mil T-Flex fits the bill for almost any application and budget.”
LexJet 5 Mil T-Flex does not curl when used in roll-able applications, such as banner stands, trade-show graphics, and point-of-purchase signage. The co-polymer film was designed to withstand repeated use and shipping, and its solvent-acrylic adhesive ensures a strong bond between the laminate and the printed media.
“5 Mil T-Flex is part of LexJet’s ongoing commitment to its customers to provide products that meet very specific application requirements as well as flexible, multi-purpose products that can be used across a wide range of applications,” says Camillia Mankovich, LexJet’s marketing director.
LexJet 5 Mil T-Flex is available in 25 in. x 50 ft., 38 in. x 150 ft., 38 in. x 300 ft., 51 in. x 150 ft., and 51 in. x 300 ft. rolls, and comes with LexJet’s 30-day money-back guarantee.

Water Works
What works in aqueous-based wide-format printing: a report on the latest generation of Canon and HP printers, plus choosing the right type of printer for graphics printing as opposed to fine-art and photographic printing.
When solvent printing first came to the market, there was a general murmur in the industry that this was the first signal that aqueous-based printing was on its way out and headed the way of T-Rex. Still, aqueous printers held their own, due in large part to their price, reliability, and more-durable pigmented ink sets. With pigmented inks, unless it’s for a specialty application like a tabletop graphic, or it has to sit in the sun for a couple of years, you shouldn’t need to laminate.
Then, when UV-curable printing arrived, allowing direct inkjet printing to uncoated boards, another premature obituary was written for aqueous printing.
But the simple fact is that it’s hard to beat the quality, reliability, and ease of use of aqueous-based printers, and they’re an excellent complement to more industrial methods of printing, such as UV-curable.
Canon, HP or Epson?
Over the past few years, a couple of important developments have taken place that have bolstered HP’s place in the market and, at the same time, challenged HP’s dominance.
The first development was the emergence of Canon as a legitimate competitor in HP’s wide-format printer markets. The second was HP’s introduction of the replacement for the 5000/5500 series, the Z6100.
