S-One Prepares Future Workforce

S-One has had a formal internship program since 2017. The main objective is to provide a fun, informative, and challenging work environment for our interns. This year, seven college interns are participating in the program. “S-One believes in investing in the future of our workforce. Our internship program is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience that helps students bridge the gap between academics and industry,” said Kim Yochum,          S-One Holdings Corporation VP People Operations. “By offering hands-on learning, professional development, and mentorship, we’re proud to support the next generation as they prepare to succeed in college and launch impactful careers.”

Meet Will Bakosh, an intern for our Digital Marketing Team who says he’s learning new abilities and enhancing present skills. “I have learned how to navigate applications such as HubSpot and Google ads, while also expanding on my social skills and problem-solving ability.”

His aspirations are to pursue a career in cognitive science or in marketing. His mentor is Dustin Ebbesmeyer. “My S-One internship raises the probability of me landing a desired job. My mentor is a huge reason why I’ve learned so much about the business and the applications we use daily.” To sum up his internship experience, Bakosh shared, “I love the kindhearted disposition of everyone I interact with.”

Intern, Avery Blechta, works with S-One subsidiary, Brand Management Group (BMG), with our Marketing team. This experience has helped her learn Adobe InDesign, which she says will aid her in college projects and will set her apart from other candidates when seeking a job in marketing. She describes her mentorship as being impactful.

Melissa Jendzejec-Blanchard serves as Avery’s mentor. “She creates a positive learning environment and makes me feel comfortable asking questions. She helps me stay organized and on track,” Blechta stated. In summary, Blechta added, “The positivity and culture of the company makes S-One a great place to work.”

Creating an engaging company culture is the main focus of our E3 Team which stand for Employee Engagement and Experience. This year, its mission included three more E’s: Evolving, Engaging, and Elevating. Cami Bolsoni interns with the group and has enjoyed the experience of sharpening her skills. “I’ve been improving my project management, professional communication, and HR-related knowledge,” she explained.

Her dream job involves working in Talent Development, HR, or Organizational Consulting. Her mentorship experience with our E3 team of Angie Gruss, Jesse Lochthowe, Dawn Tice, and Kim Yochum has boosted her confidence in future career success. “Dawn is an incredible example of efficiency and organization.”

Bolsoni adds that Yochum stressed the importance of growing not just as a professional but also as an individual. “She offered advice that boosted my confidence and reminded me to believe in my potential.”

Working with Lochthowe is also a valuable part of her experience. “I gained knowledge on    S-One’s learning platform that helps team members enhance their skills, well-being, and engagement.”

Gruss was also instrumental to Bolsoni’s mentorship experience. “Angie created an environment where I felt comfortable sharing ideas and actively contributing to the team.”

Keegan French, a BMG Sales intern, graduates in December and plans to start looking for a sales job soon. He feels his internship will make him a strong candidate especially because he had so many mentors including Sam Dannheisser, Dustin Ebbesmeyer, Patrick Callaway, CJ Forker, Jason Metnick, Cooper Shannon, Jack Somers, Daniel Vasquez, and Kim Yochum. “They help guide me and give me advice to help me learn effectively in the business environment. I think I could call them friends for sure.”

Sean Laureano’s internship also focuses on sales. He works closely with Bill Weiser from LexJet, an S-One subsidiary. “Bill provides guidance for me to be successful through training.” For national accounts, his go-to is Mary Ellen Blechta. “She helped me find opportunities through Customer Relationship Management (CRM).”

I was introduced to business applications and etiquette in one of the best cultures in the world.”

Lia Lobosco, Video/Creative intern, explains her S-One experience in this way. “S-One made it clear that it wasn’t an ordinary workspace from the start and made sure to integrate all of us into the family with arms wide open.” Nate Dodson and Gianna Peralli mentored her so that her dream job might one day become a reality. “I would like to write screenplays and assist in the pre- and post-production of independent and professional films.” Nate shared his video-production expertise, and Gianna made sure Lobosco understood her projects and answered any questions. Additionallly, Rob Adams helped train Lia on video equipment.

“It was extremely helpful to have such experienced members on my team that were masters of their craft and were more than willing to share their insider tips and tricks! I was able to learn more in these two short months than I have in some classes over many semesters,” Lobosco concluded.
