S-One Sponsors Sarasota’s Rock for a Cause

S-One has joined forces with Sarasota Young Professionals Group to host the “battle of the bands” event Rock for a Cause, to be held Oct. 11 in Downtown Sarasota.

During the event, which runs from 3­–10 p.m. on Palm Avenue, the top six bands (chosen from online submissions) will compete for $1,500 cash prize and a chance to allocate $3,500 to the music department of a local school of their choice. The winning band will also come back and play the closing set. Vendors will sell products, food and beverages, and kids will have their own special area, too.

Bands that would like to compete can visit SRQRocks.com to submit two songs in audio or video format by Sept. 15. All genre, age and talent levels are encouraged to participate. Anyone can visit the page and vote for the band they’d like to see perform at the event. Follow all the updates on Facebook.
