Team Members Share Culinary Talents and Volunteerism

S-One celebrated its 4th Annual Grill Off giving team members the opportunity to share their talents not only as grillers and smokers, but also as volunteers in the community. 2026 marks the fourth year of the Grill Off where team members competed by sharing their special recipes on grills and smokers. Professional chefs judged the specialties.

Creative cuisine featured Honey Hog’s Sweet Hot Smoked Ribs, Poor Mans Burnt Ends, Chicken Ratatouille Skewers, Smoked Meatloaf Cupcakes with Bourbon Peach Mango Habanero BBQ, Chimi Chimi Bang Bang, Smashburgers, No Meat All Heat, and more.

Chefs Alyson and Mark Zildjian along with Chef Rich Knowles served as judges. Chef Alyson is a sustainability and green event consultant with nearly 40 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industries, including 15 years leading Zildjian Catering & Consulting. Chef Mark Zildjian is a culinary consultant at Zildjian Consulting, where he brings decades of industry experience and a passion for fresh, sustainable cuisine.

Chef Rich Knowles grew up learning about farming and cooking from his father. Since his childhood, Chef Rich would seek fresh, locally-sourced produce. He started Innovative Dining to provide elevated cuisine, crafted from top-quality ingredients.

Along with lunch, participants met nonprofit partners to learn about volunteer opportunities as part of S-One's core value of Selfless Service.

Our team members help the community by participating in mentorship programs, volunteering at All Faiths Food Bank, doing roadside cleanups for our adoption of a portion of Siesta Drive, and other activities. In 2025, our team members devoted 250 hours to community service.
